Career Goals

Picture
Since before I could talk, my mother said I helped. It's always been a passion of mine to help others and offer human connection with compassion and understanding. Many years ago I had a misdiagnosed heart condition that led me to many people in the healthcare system. Through the perseverance of a nurse, I was able to find a doctor that diagnosed me with a potentially fatal heart condition and gave me a second chance in life. That nurse, along with others, showed me that I to want to be an advocate for others in this field of work. This has led me to starting my career over at the age of 40, and reaching for three important career goals in life.

Becoming an RN

First Career Goal

My first career goal is to become a registered nurse and get my bachelors, and eventually my masters in nursing. I will be the first person in my family to graduate college and have a degree.

Second Career Goal

My second goal after graduation is to work in the labor and delivery or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. My soft spot for babies and mothers really is pulling at my heart strings to work in this section of the medical field.

Third Career goal

My third goal is to be able to travel and help people of underdeveloped areas in the world get proper medical care. Growing up poor I know all too well what lack of medical care can do. My heart really seeks to use my knowledge for the betterment of society and those less fortunate.
